Something to Celebrate

September 29 is National Coffee Day! Canadians love coffee, but the amount we’re drinking is declining. It’s estimated that Canadians will consume more than five million 60-kg bags of coffee this year, or 2.7 cups of coffee per day each. That compares to about 3.6 cups per day in 2008. The hot coffee market in Canada is a US$18-billion business, according to a 2022 Statista report, with the single-cup pod market comprising 31 per cent. Most of our coffee is imported from Columbia and Brazil.
