Abigail Van Riesen is a results-driven self-starter and relationship builder, passionate about advancing Canada’s innovation ecosystem.
She began her career at a university spin-out, building on her doctoral research, which involved collaborating with farmers to develop innovative technology solutions for quality control in Canada’s agrifood sector. Abigail then transitioned into consulting, supporting a wide range of clients—from early-stage startups to Fortune 500 companies—across the food, health products, pharmaceutical, medical device, and cosmetics industries, showcasing her versatility.
As Partnership Executive at CFIN, Abigail draws on her industry knowledge and scientific expertise to strengthen strategic collaborations, advance our mission, and support innovation across Canada’s food sector.
Abigail has a PhD in Chemistry and Toxicology from the University of Guelph and is actively involved with the innovation ecosystem and the entrepreneurial community across Canada.
