The Food Technology Program at the BC Institute of Technology (BCIT) trains students in the basics of food technology, including food processing, quality control, food testing and analysis

Program Highlights:

The two-year, full-time diploma program includes on-campus lectures and labs (at the Burnaby Campus) to provide students with both theory and practical experience. An industry-sponsored project gives students applied learning opportunities. Students will interact with industry sponsors who mentor and support students in learning food technology skills.

This program is for students who enjoy working individually and in a team environment, have a passion for food and the food industry, and are interested in developing their critical thinking skills. Student must have a high school diploma or higher level of education.

What You’ll Leave With:

Diploma program students graduate with all the practical skills necessary to work in the food production industry. Most graduates are hired within two months of graduating. Graduates can choose to apply to other bachelor’s degree programs, including Environmental Public Health.
