March 12 to 18 is National Bubble Gum Week! Celebrated since 1975, the week has grown to include events around the world, including competitions to create unique new flavours. The first commercial bubble gum was Blibber-Blubber, produced in the U.S. in 1906 by Frank Fleer. Pink was the only food colouring available at the time, giving bubble gum its signature colour.
