The program is designed to equip students with skills in food science, nutrition, and dietetics, preparing them for a wide range of careers in health care, food industry, or research.
With small class sizes and dedicated faculty, students in UPEI’s Foods and Nutrition Program can expect a personalized learning experience. The program emphasizes practical experiences to prepare students for real-world challenges, and offers them the opportunity to engage in nutritional assessments, nutrition counselling, food product development, and to operate a campus restaurant.
The program offers several specializations, including Foods and Nutrition major and honours, a dietetic internship, a cooperative education program, and a minor in Foods and Nutrition for students in other majors. A cooperative education program that includes paid work terms in the food industry is also available.
