Food and Beverage Atlantic, working jointly with the provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador and Prince Edward Island, is seeking Atlantic Canadian seafood companies to attend the Conxemar Seafood Show in Vigo, Spain October 4 – 6, 2022.
The Conxemar trade show takes place in Vigo, Spain, an important fishing port in Europe, and serves as the meeting point for the entire processing sector including wholesalers, importers, exporters, manufacturers, distributors, cold storage, and machinery.
Since its inauguration in 1999, it has grown steadily in visitors and exhibitors, with an exhibition area of 37,000 m². It is the most important Fish and Seafood trade show in Southern Europe, with significant international presence and dozens of national pavilions.
The goals of the mission are to showcase and promote the high-quality seafood products from Atlantic Canada that differentiate our region as a world leader in international seafood exports; to increase export opportunities for Atlantic Canadian seafood companies in Europe, and to increase the number of Atlantic Canadian seafood companies exporting to Europe.
Spain is an important market for Canadian fish and seafood exporters. It remains one of the largest food markets in Europe and has the potential for future growth as highly educated Spanish consumers are oriented towards high‐quality products. Furthermore, due to immigration, the Spanish consumer market is becoming more diverse, which will further increase the demand.
Key Elements of the Mission include:
- The Atlantic Provinces have secured open-concept pavilion with shared 98 m² booth spaces that will house up to 12 Atlantic Canadian companies.
- A walker-program is being offered for Atlantic Canadian companies who do not wish to exhibit.
- Food and Beverage Atlantic will coordinate all pavilion details including furnishing, graphics, and signage.
- Exhibitors and Walkers are responsible for all travel arrangements and travel costs.
