Something to Celebrate

February 16 is Paczki Day! A paczki is a Polish pastry dating back to the middle ages, similar to a sugary, filled doughnut. The treats are traditionally eaten on the Thursday before Ash Wednesday in Poland, and on Fat Tuesday (Pancake Day) in North America. They can be filled with a variety of fruit preserves, cream or custard, and topped with granulated sugar, icing sugar or sugar glaze.
