Canada has an extensive range of research centres, food incubators, accelerators and labs supporting food and beverage innovation through the research they do and/or the services they offer. Each week throughout 2023, we’ll be highlighting an organization that’s supporting food innovation in Canada.
Mission: To foster the growth and commercialization of food, beverage and ingredient companies serving local and global markets.
Focus: The federally inspected FPDC supports the food and beverage industry by helping build value-added processing capacity.
Services: The 65,000-sq.-ft. pilot plant and product development laboratory features more than $20 million in equipment to support food product innovation, development and commercialization. View the available equipment here. Services include:

What you Need to Know: The facility is also considered a designated incubator under the Start-Up Visa (SUV) program with the Government of Canada.
Notable News: The FPDC is home to the Agrivalue Processing Business Incubator, which is expanding to add two new processing suites. Together the FPDC and the incubator cover approximately 140,000 sq. ft.
