Canada has an extensive range of research centres, food incubators, accelerators and labs supporting food and beverage innovation through the research they do and/or the services they offer. Each week throughout 2023, we’ll be highlighting an organization that’s supporting food innovation in Canada.
Mission: Platform Calgary is a non-profit, member-based organization with a mandate to bring together the resources of Calgary’s tech ecosystem to help startups launch and grow, from ideation through to scale.
Focus: The organization offers innovators access to Calgary’s tech sector through its alignment with a collaborative ecosystem of 100+ local, national and international partners.

The organization offers a range of programs designed to help entrepreneurs at different stages of their companies, from startup to launch and scale up. It also features a 50,000-sq.-ft. Platform Innovation Centre which acts as a community hub and meeting place for members, as well providing members with access to resources, seminars, classes, workshops and more.
What you need to know: Platform Calgary’s members are tech-driven or tech-enabled companies of all sizes with headquarters or a presence in Calgary. Membership for companies with fewer than 20 employees is free.
