Nourishing Your Future: Exploring UPEIs Foods and Nutrition Program  

University of Prince Edward Island's Foods and Nutrition program offers a comprehensive and practical approach to learning about the nutritional health of individuals and communities. The program is designed to equip students with skills in food science, nutrition, and dietetics, preparing them for a wide range of careers in health care, food industry, or research. 

Program Highlights: 

With small class sizes and dedicated faculty, students in UPEI’s Foods and Nutrition Program can expect a personalized learning experience. The program emphasizes practical experiences to prepare students for real-world challenges, and offers them the opportunity to engage in nutritional assessments, nutrition counselling, food product development, and to operate a campus restaurant.  

The program offers several specializations, including Foods and Nutrition major and honours, a dietetic internship, a cooperative education program, and a minor in Foods and Nutrition for students in other majors. A cooperative education program that includes paid work terms in the food industry is also available. This hands-on experience allows you to build professional networks and gain invaluable insights into food-related employment.
