Artificial intelligence is an under-utilized tool in the agrifood sector, but its potential is limitless. From ingredient development, to product formulation, to quality assurance testing, artificial intelligence can help companies across Canada make their operations more efficient. At the same time, its potential in the area of waste reduction can help reduce companies’ GHG emissions and water use, helping Canada reach its net-zero goals.
Protein Industries Canada’s artificial intelligence program aims to meet this need for new tools and technologies by co-investing in collaborative projects that utilize artificial intelligence to help grow Canada’s plant-based food, feed and ingredients ecosystem. Between now and March 31, 2026, Protein Industries Canada will be investing $30 million into these artificial intelligence projects, benefiting the plant-based and agrifood sector. More information about the program can be found at https://www.proteinindustriescanada.ca/artificial-intelligence.
Join us in Vancouver on Feb. 1 as we discuss how agrifood companies are already using this innovative technology, and how your company can join them. This discussion will include an in-person overview of our new Artificial Intelligence Program, including how to apply, potential project ideas and an opportunity to network with potential project partners.
The discussion will feature a presentation from a variety of players in the agrifood and agritech sectors. They’ll discuss their experience in utilizing or developing artificial intelligence, and how they see it helping Canada’s plant-based sector now and into the future.
