Canadian Food Innovation Network announces collaboration with

SIAL conference content to feature CFIN expert voices, leading edge information

and inspiring innovation stories

Toronto, April 13, 2022 --- Canadian Food Innovation Network (CFIN), a not-for-profit organization established in 2021 to spark innovation in the food sector, has announced a collaboration with SIAL Canada to present exclusive conference content at this year’s premier food industry trade show in Montreal.

The new partnership will see Joseph Lake (CEO), Dana McCauley (Chief Experience Office), Julie Daigle (Regional Innovation Director, Quebec), and Linda Fox (Regional Innovation Director, Ontario) leading discussions that will showcase Canadian food innovation and help businesses identify opportunities to grow Canada’s economy. Topics include the ‘food as medicine’ industry trend; cutting-edge digital tools and technologies; healthy future product opportunities; and the new pathways consumers are choosing to get food into their pantry.

“Partnering with SIAL Canada to develop and present some of this year’s conference content is an exciting opportunity to provide valuable insights to leaders of food businesses,” said Joseph Lake, CEO, Canadian Food Innovation Network. “As a new organization that champions food innovation, this collaboration is an opportunity to introduce CFIN and its leadership team to the food industry across Canada.”

In addition to its collaboration with SIAL Canada, CFIN has already embarked on a number of ground-breaking initiatives that will stimulate transformative and transferrable innovation across the Canadian food sector, including offering multiple streams of funding. Membership to the organization is free and open to distributors, retailers, processors, manufacturers, funders and innovators working in technology, packaging, and other adjacent fields.

“A CFIN membership offers Canadian innovators and enterprises of all sizes new opportunities to discover trends and insights, innovate collaboratively, and grow with like-minded business-to-business customers, suppliers, technology companies, researchers and investors,” said Dana McCauley, Chief Experience Office, Canadian Food Innovation Network.

In addition to the conference content, Dana McCauley, Chief Experience Office, Canadian Food Innovation Network, will co-preside over the SIAL Innovation Competition, an annual, international competition that recognizes the best food and non-food innovations such as packaging and food containers.

“As business returns to normal after the pandemic, innovators are thirsty for new ideas; both the SIAL Innovation Competition and our CFIN conference content will pique new ideas and help attendees springboard their businesses to success,” added McCauley.

SIAL Canada is an annual food innovation trade show acknowledged asnthe gateway to North American and International markets for food manufacturers, retailers and foodservice businesses. SIAL Canada will take place face-to-face in Montreal from April 20th to 22nd for its 19th edition and will feature variety, originality, and diversity in the products offered as well as the 50+ conferences, workshops and hosted activities.
